Honey Honey Salon | FAQs

Where are you located?

We are located at 15 Wilson street Berri, which is in the heart of Berri in the Riverland, SA. Berri is a reasonably central town making it a perfect location and within a reasonable distance to Renmark and Loxton.

What is a Balayage?

A traditional Balayage is hand painted blonde in a specific technique in order to create a natural and blended sun kissed blonde. Because trends are seeing people want higher contrast and brighter blondes, we tend to create a similar look using a foil technique which gives us more control.

Do you cut mens hair?

Whilst we are predominantly a ladies hairdresser specialising in the world of colour, we do still offer mens haircuts.

What is a colour correction?

A colour correction is creating a colour significantly different to what you have eg. Going from almost black to blonde/blonde to copper/copper to blonde etc, or correcting colourwork previously done at home or by a different stylist.

What does your salon specialise in?

One thing all the stylists at Honey Honey Salon have in common is their passion for foiling. We love creating bright and lived in blondes and brondes. Our biggest flex is really caring for and nurturing your hair health journey.

What is the difference between K18 and Olaplex?

K18 and Olaplex are very similar in that they protect the integrity and structure of your hair. They are necessary if we are lightening already compromised hair. However the main difference is in the way they work. Olaplex uses a patented technology which goes into the hair, repairing disulphide bonds during the colouring process as well as after. It doesn’t have a cosmetic feel, so won’t make your hair feel significantly different with use, but it WILL make it stronger. K18 uses a peptide to rejoin bonds including the salt and hydrogen bonds. Because of this it has a slightly more cosmetic feel and is great for using when your hair is heat damaged.

Why do you use Redken?

Redken has been around for a long time and is at the top of the professional haircare industry. Because of its history and the L’Oreal Professional sisterhood that it has, it is tried and tested and uses the best scientific technology. Redken offer incredible ongoing education opportunities for our staff and is often a portal for us to be able to learn from and liase with the industries finest hairdressers such as Kaine Vakai, Sheree Noble, Michael Kelly and many more.

What is a rootshadow?

A root shadow is a toning technique commonly used to create a lived in blonde result. Best for people wanting a lower maintenance or more natural, seamless looking colour. We typically choose a colour similar to your natural or a few shades lighter and apply it at the root area, blending it down seamlessly with your blonde foils. This technique is also how we can create a balayage look.

What extensions do you offer?

Director of Honey Honey Salon, Jaye Brand has worked countless hours with hair extensions and has a background of working in salons that specialise in hair loss, making her an amazing extension technician. Because of her love for protecting the integrity of her clients hair, she is very fussy with what methods she uses. Sewn in wefts and customisable Keratin bond extensions are the only 2 methods we offer as they are the kindest on the hair.
